Buddy Burners

Posted by tmccarty on Oct 8, 2009 in Uncategorized

Please Remember to bring in a tuna fish can, washed, cleaned and label removed to build your Buddy Burner. If you do not have a tuna fish can how about a cat food can or similar can. Also you will need a coffee can or simular can, cleaned to build your stove.

No plastic metal cans only.

Due in by Oct 20th.

We will make the burners and stoves that evening.

Thankyou

My Train Room

Posted by tmccarty on Sep 24, 2009 in Uncategorized

Mr. McCarty's Train Room Just a picture of my train room, thought you might enjoy. You are welcome to come and visit anytime and run some trains, just ask.  There is a lot to do yet and I am still building and laying track. I have five completed loops and can run up to five trains at one time. I am presently constructing a steam engine round house and service facility. Under the layout is a subway system with two loops of track which I can run two subways  and three subway stations for the trains to stop at. Also under my layout is a storage yard which holds all my subway cars. All trains are command controlby a hand held wireless controller.

Flag Retirement

Posted by tmccarty on Jun 23, 2009 in Uncategorized

Thanks to all Scouts and Leaders of Troop 95 and Pack 95 who attended the ceremony. The ceremony went off well. I think you impressed everyone who was in attendance. I was however disappointed in the amount of attendees other than troop and pack parents.

Scouts be proud you all did an excellent job.

Rita’s Ice Hike

Posted by tmccarty on May 19, 2009 in Uncategorized

Thank you for attending our annual hike to Rita’s Ice. It was a great hike and I enjoyed being with you all. Thanks to our SPL Alex we were able to get onto the trail earlier that I would have, he knew the short cut. I was able to find some poison ivy and pointed it out to everyone, Now Dave knows what to stay away from. Sure glad the fence at the cemetery wasn’t fixed yet so we didn’t have to back track to find a way into Rita’s. Jason pointed out a large gathering of gypsy moth caterpillars on the tracks, nice find Jason. I was disappointed we didn’t see any Hobos along the way, oh well next time. Mack cheated and drove to Rita’s. Frank was late and it wasn’t even his fault but his father made him hike back with a full back pack on his back while he drove back, hope you get even with him Frank. Robert and Nick left us at Rita’s to go to Robert’s house, but I think they just wanted to walk behind those two girls headed in the same direction.

And as usual our Scoutmaster did a fine job BRINGING UP THE REAR.

Thanks for a good hike.

You have finally completed your task of wearing your uniforms correctly and with proper insignia. I commend you all.
As of the next meeting we can all change to Class “B” uniform.
Please keep your “A” uniform current with all insignia this way we can avoid future problems.

Thank you
